Take an existing garment which fits you well, lay on a flat surface, then measure from arm pit to arm pit. This gives you the half chest measurement. 
Use this measurement to select the best size option for you from the size chart, which shows half chest measurements.

A bit more about sizes & fittings for trousers and shorts

When ordering trousers do the same thing as for a top but measure the garment across the waist
This gives you the half waist measurement. Double this to get your correct waist size.
For example, if the half size measures 60cm, order a 120cm waist
For stretch jeans you can usually order 1 or 2 sizes smaller than normal.
Business trousers do not generally stretch so base your size on the actual measurement
